What is TEREA, and why does it only work in ILUMA?

TEREA is Philip Morris's stick for the induction-heated IQOS, and IQOS describes it as "made exclusively for IQOS ILUMA". The difference from the old system is inside the stick. Every TEREA has a small metal element sitting in its centre. An ILUMA warms that element by induction, the technology IQOS has named its "SMARTCORE INDUCTION SYSTEM", so the heat travels outward into the tobacco wrapped around it. Nothing is set alight, so you get no ash and no burnt smell; and as the tobacco never comes into contact with the device, there's no blade to clean and nothing that can snap. One stick gives you up to 14 puffs, roughly six minutes; 20 sticks make a pack and ten packs make a carton.

A lot of people search for "terea cigarette", and fair enough, but a cigarette is the one thing it isn't. There is no paper to burn and no lighter involved; the stick sits in the device and comes out whole when the session ends. That is also why nothing on this page tastes exactly like a cigarette, and why we never claim it does.

TEREA vs HEETS: which stick for which IQOS?

This is the question behind the "terea heets dubai" searches we see every month, so here is the short version. HEETS are the sticks for the older blade devices: IQOS 3 DUO, IQOS 3 MULTI, IQOS ORIGINALS and everything before them. TEREA is the stick for ILUMA, ILUMA PRIME and ILUMA ONE, plus the newer ILUMA i, ILUMA i ONE and ILUMA i PRIME. The two are not interchangeable in either direction. IQOS's own warning is that using TEREA in a device from a previous generation "may cause damage to your device", and a HEETS stick simply has no metal core for an ILUMA to heat. We sell TEREA and the ILUMA devices that take it; we do not sell HEETS, and we are not the place to ask about them.

Which TEREA sticks do we sell in Dubai?

Our TEREA comes from five markets. Each one prints its own packs, which is why a single flavour can turn up here three or four times under different country names. Here is what each country range looks like today. The counts are taken from the live category pages, so they shift as cartons sell through.

Kazakhstan has a page of its own too, with nothing on it at the moment. The IQOS UAE shop, for comparison, listed about a dozen variants when we checked it today, so most of what makes this page long is the Japan and Indonesia stock that the official UAE range does not carry.

How the flavours are organised

The country tells you where a carton was printed. The family is what tells you the taste, which is the order our TEREA flavour guide uses for all 69. The short tour: six families are plain tobacco, no menthol, running from light Silver up to rich Bronze and the Japan Regulars. Three are cold, starting gentle with Turquoise, moving through the Menthol and mint page and ending at the Black series. Three lay fruit or aroma over the tobacco, Purple Wave being the one everybody has heard of. The Pearl sticks keep their aroma inside a capsule until you press it, and the Editions are Indonesia's clove sticks. Because each family page already has a table drawn from the listings, the descriptions on this page can stay brief.

Want one name rather than a whole page? Silver Uzbekistan makes a light tobacco start; Amber Italy has more body; Turquoise Switzerland is the gentle menthol and Green Indonesia the colder one; Purple Wave Uzbekistan puts berry and menthol in the same stick; Oasis Pearl Japan is for anyone who enjoys pressing a capsule; and Auburn Edition brings clove with apricot and vanilla.

Buying TEREA in Dubai: how it works here

We are an online shop, and the whole range on this page is sold by the carton, ten sealed packs of 20, with the exact quantity on each listing. Place the order on the site, and in Dubai it usually turns up within the hour. Sharjah and Ajman usually take an hour or two, and Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the rest of the emirates somewhere around twelve. Anywhere in the UAE you can pay the driver in cash, so the carton is in your hands before the money leaves them. We open at 9:00 and close at 22:30, except Wednesdays, when we shut at 20:30; the small print is on the shipping page.

Two things people ask before a first order. Duty free: airport shops sell TEREA to travellers, but we are not one and can't speak for their stock; what we offer is the same sealed carton delivered to your door, any day of the week. And whether TEREA is allowed in the UAE at all: yes, it is sold openly here, by IQOS's own UAE store and boutique as well as by independent shops like us, and like every tobacco product it is for adults only. Our post on where to buy IQOS in Dubai compares the boutique, the mall counters and home delivery, and the Abu Dhabi delivery post covers the capital.

Which IQOS devices take TEREA?

Every ILUMA: ILUMA, ILUMA PRIME and ILUMA ONE, and the current ILUMA i, ILUMA i ONE and ILUMA i PRIME, all on our IQOS devices page, with the ILUMA i range on its own page. Any stick on this page works in any of those; there is no Japan-only or Indonesia-only device. What TEREA does not fit is the blade generation, and BLENDS A sticks for IQOS BONDS are a separate system again. Buying a device along with sticks? Put both in the same basket and they come in a single delivery.

What to look at when the carton arrives

A carton from us arrives factory-sealed with sealed packs inside. Whatever country is in the title is the country printed on the packs, so Japanese text on a Japan stick and Indonesian on an Indonesian one. Look at the seal first, then at how crisp the printing is, then at the language the health warning is written in, all before you break anything open. Something not right? Keep it closed and contact us; we'll deal with it. Cartons want a cool, dry, shaded spot. A parked car in Dubai will spoil sticks faster than anything, and the fridge is no answer either, because condensation gets into the tobacco.

Common questions

Where can I buy TEREA in Dubai?

Here, on this page and the country and family pages under it. Settle on an edition, place the order on the site, and pay in cash once the carton is at the door. Nobody has to come to a counter, though you're welcome to.

Can I get TEREA delivered today in Dubai?

Yes. Order while we're open (9:00 to 22:30 daily, 20:30 on Wednesdays) and a Dubai delivery is usually with you inside the hour.

Will TEREA work in my IQOS 3 DUO?

No. The 3 DUO heats with a blade and takes HEETS. TEREA wants an ILUMA or ILUMA i; force one into a blade device and you risk breaking the device.

Pack size and carton size

A pack holds 20 sticks. A carton holds ten packs, which comes to 200. We sell by the carton.

Why are there three Silvers and four Purple Waves?

Because each is a different market's edition of the same flavour, printed for Italy, Switzerland, Uzbekistan or Indonesia. Each edition has its own listing here, so the carton that arrives is the one you clicked, and the flavour guide covers what changes between them, if anything does.

Is TEREA the same as HEETS?

No. HEETS are for blade devices, TEREA for ILUMA, and neither works in the other. We only sell TEREA.

Are the TEREA sticks you sell the real thing?

They are sealed market cartons bought for resale, with Japanese, Indonesian, Uzbek, Italian or Swiss printing to match the title. Once the box is with you, check the seal and the warning language, and talk to us first if anything looks wrong rather than opening it.

We're an independent online shop, not an IQOS store. Phone or message +971 54 703 5056, or email [email protected]; we're on every day 9:00 to 22:30, Wednesday to 20:30. An order inside Dubai usually arrives within the hour, Sharjah and Ajman take one to two hours, the other emirates (Abu Dhabi included) about twelve, and cash on delivery is fine everywhere.

For adults who already use tobacco or nicotine products. Nicotine is addictive, and no tobacco stick is risk-free. TEREA contains a sharp metal part; do not take it apart or swallow it. Keep tobacco sticks away from children and pets. TEREA Dubai is an independent retailer with no affiliation to IQOS or Philip Morris International. Checked on 29 October 2026.
