TEREA Regular & Tobacco
Quick answer: if you want TEREA that tastes of tobacco and nothing else, this is the page. We keep six Japan Regular editions (Regular, Rich, Warm, Balanced, Smooth and Ruby) and Teak from Italy and Switzerland, eight listings in all, every one for IQOS ILUMA. No capsules, no menthol. Ruby is the one exception, with a raspberry aroma sitting over the tobacco.

Which Regular is which?
The names tell you nothing, so we took the descriptions from Philip Morris's own Japanese site rather than guess. Start at the gentle end. Warm Regular is mellow tobacco with a toasty, nutty smell to it. Balanced Regular is mellow too, only with herbs and a touch of citrus coming through. Then the two roasted ones: Smooth Regular, which finishes on black tea and wood, and plain Regular, which swaps the tea for nutty, woody notes and a fuller draw. Rich Regular is where the weight is; the maker calls it a roasted blend with a malty aroma, and it is the heaviest stick on this page. Ruby Regular is the odd one out, mellow tobacco with a rich raspberry note and a hint of flowers over it.
A word on the words. "Mellow" and "smooth" describe taste; Philip Morris says on that same page that they do not mean one stick does you less harm than another. You may also see Bold Regular and Clear Regular in Japanese line-ups. We do not stock them right now.
Which TEREA Regular sticks can you buy in Dubai?
The last column is lifted from each product page.
| Edition | Made in | What the listing says |
|---|---|---|
| Warm Regular Japan | Japan | Mellow tobacco, toasty aroma, no menthol |
| Balanced Regular Japan | Japan | Mellow, aromatic tobacco; herbs and a little citrus |
| Smooth Regular Japan | Japan | Roasted and rounded, black tea and wood at the end |
| Regular Japan | Japan | Roasted tobacco, nutty and woody, fuller draw |
| Rich Regular Japan | Japan | Full-bodied tobacco with strength and body |
| Ruby Regular Japan | Japan | Raspberry and a whisper of flowers on a regular tobacco base |
| Teak Italy | Italy | Roasted tobacco, rounded off creamy, gently nutty |
| Teak Switzerland | Switzerland | Toasted tobacco, creamy and nutty |
Everything from Japan, and the Swiss Teak, comes as a carton of ten packs, 20 sticks each. Teak Italy is the exception, a single-pack listing, so check the sale unit before paying. Japanese boxes carry Japanese writing; the stick inside is an ordinary TEREA.
Regular vs Rich Regular: is there much in it?
Some, though less than the names suggest. Regular is rounded and roasted, with nut and wood around the edges. Rich Regular starts from the same place and piles on body and a malty aroma, so it lands heavier in the mouth. Too heavy? Go back to Regular. Regular a bit thin for you? Move up. Smooth Regular is not a step on that ladder so much as a sidestep, because the black tea note changes the character more than the weight. "Strong" here describes taste, not a measurement of anything.
Teak, and the tobacco sticks without Japan on the box
Teak earns its place here by being tobacco first, Italian and Swiss rather than Japanese. IQOS's word for it is nutty, and both our listings say much the same: toasted tobacco with a creamy, nutty note. Like that direction? The European tobacco sticks are close by. Amber Uzbekistan goes toasted, woody and nutty, Silver Italy keeps it lighter with restrained herbs and a mild spice, Sienna Switzerland is toasted tobacco with woody notes, and Yellow Uzbekistan is mellow tobacco with a piquant edge.
Want more happening in the stick? Bronze Indonesia sets mellow tobacco against warm cocoa and dried fruit. Dimensions Apricity, from the Dimensions range, blends rich tobacco with fruit and wood and rounds it off creamy. Auburn Edition Indonesia is warm tobacco and clove with apricot and vanilla riding along. Our Regular tobacco guide goes deeper into the Japan and Italy editions, and the note on checking the carton edition is worth reading before a first order.
Common questions
Is TEREA Smooth Regular a menthol stick?
No, though it gets muddled a lot. Smooth Regular finishes on black tea and wood, and there is no menthol in it. The confusion comes from the Japan menthol sticks, which carry their own names. For cold, the menthol and mint page is where to look.
Does Ruby Regular taste like fruit?
Not the way a Pearl does. Ruby is tobacco with a raspberry aroma sitting over it and a small floral note behind that. Nothing to press, nothing sweet in the draw. Think of it as a Regular wearing perfume.
Will these work in my IQOS?
If it is an ILUMA, yes: ILUMA, ILUMA PRIME, ILUMA ONE, and the newer ILUMA i, ILUMA i ONE and ILUMA i PRIME all take them. Blade devices such as IQOS 3 DUO will not heat a TEREA, and BLENDS A sticks for IQOS BONDS are a different system.
Is TEREA Teak the same as TEREA Regular?
No. Teak is its own flavour, nutty and creamy on a toasted base, made in Italy and Switzerland; the Regulars are Japan editions. Smooth Regular is the nearest Japanese match if you want to compare.
