Wave, Pearl or Black: what's the actual difference?

Three things. There's no capsule in a Wave; the fruit is in from the first puff and stays in, because switching it on and off is the Pearl range's party trick. The menthol is genuine, yet it keeps the fruit company rather than burying it, which is why a Wave never gets anywhere near the frost of the Black sticks. And the fruit is the point. IQOS calls Summer Wave fresh and ripe fruit, and on its Indonesian site Bright Wave appears in the menthol family and in the high-intensity aromatic family at the same time. Filed in both places at once, which is about as honest a description as you'll get: cold and fruit in the same stick.

Which TEREA Wave sticks do we sell in Dubai?

We sell them by the carton. That's ten sealed packs of 20 sticks, printed for the country that made them. One thing catches people on a repeat order. Some Dubai shops sell a Kazakhstan Summer Wave; ours comes from Uzbekistan, same name, different box. Look at the country line and you'll get the one you had before.

So which one goes in the basket first?

Our rule of thumb is simple. Fruit people get Summer Wave, and the table above already says why, so we won't repeat ourselves. Cold lovers should take Bright Wave, where the menthol gets in first and the green fruit follows behind it, sharper and fresher than Summer Wave's ripe fruit. Anyone already settled on Turquoise will find Bright Wave the obvious next stick, and anyone who finds menthol a touch clinical will be happier with Summer Wave.

Neither of them is strong in the way the Black sticks are, and we don't put strength scores or nicotine numbers on this page. Cooling and fruit are taste words; the pack and the live listing carry the hard facts.

Where Waves sit in the rest of the range

Start with Purple Wave, the berry version of the same idea. We stock it two ways: Purple Wave Uzbekistan, forest-berry notes on a tobacco base, and a Purple Wave Switzerland carton of the same flavour from the Swiss market. After that it depends which half of a Wave you liked. If it was Bright Wave's menthol, the Japan menthol line carries on in that direction: Bright Menthol Japan has refreshing menthol with a delicate pear aroma, Yellow Menthol Japan adds citrus and herbal notes to its cold, and Fusion Menthol Japan pairs its menthol with lavender and pear, again with no capsule. If it was the fruit, and you'd like to decide when it arrives, two Pearls do that: Oasis Pearl Indonesia keeps a tropical-fruit aroma in its capsule until you press it, and Strawberry Pearl Indonesia does strawberry and basil the same way, with a clove note underneath.

Is TEREA Summer Wave a menthol stick?

There is menthol in it, crisp cooling as IQOS puts it, yet it is a fruit stick before anything else. Want the cold in charge? Bright Wave. Want no cold at all? Then this page is the wrong one, and the Dimensions sticks will suit you better.

What fruit is in Summer Wave?

The maker says fresh and ripe fruit with floral nuances and leaves it there. Peach and apricot are the words customers reach for, and we won't argue, but they are not printed on the pack.

Is your Summer Wave the Kazakhstan one or the Uzbekistan one?

Uzbekistan, and it says so right in the product title. The carton has Uzbek-market printing too. Same name on both editions, so the box is what to check.

Which IQOS devices take TEREA Waves?

Any ILUMA: ILUMA, ILUMA PRIME and ILUMA ONE, plus ILUMA i, ILUMA i ONE and ILUMA i PRIME, all on our IQOS devices page. Blade devices such as IQOS 3 DUO won't heat a TEREA, and BLENDS A sticks for IQOS BONDS are a separate system.
